School of Logic Student Jonah Wills to Sing at Super Bowl LII

When you tune in to the Super Bowl this Sunday, make sure you keep your eyes peeled for Eagle Ridge Academy sixth grader Jonah Wills, who will sing “America the Beautiful” with Leslie Odom Jr. as part of a select 60-student choir made up of local singers from Angelica Cantanti and ComMUSICation. The performance will be televised live on NBC prior to kickoff.

According to Jonah’s mother Christie Wills, “Jonah has been singing formally since age 6, and is in his second year in Angelica Cantanti Youth Choirs (ACYC) out of Bloomington, currently singing alto in the award-winning, auditioned Concert Choir. He previously sang with the Mankato Children’s Chorus. In addition to singing, Jonah has also played the violin since age 4, is a current member of the Greater Twin Cities Youth Symphonies, and studies through the MacPhail Suzuki Program in Minneapolis. He recently picked up the viola, which he enjoys playing in his school orchestra. He is thrilled with the opportunity to sing at the Super Bowl, even though he wishes the Vikings would be there too!”

Elizabeth Egger, ACYC conductor, shared with the NFL, “Our singers are honored and excited to perform at Super Bowl LII. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and they will always remember feeling proud to represent the children of the state of Minnesota.”

Congratulations, Jonah! Your Eagle Ridge Academy community is so proud of you!
