March is an important month for the School Board! Tomorrow, there will be a Virtual Board Listening Session and Board Workshop. Next Wednesday, the Virtual Board Candidate Forum will provide an opportunity to meet and question the candidates running for election. The official election will open at the conclusion of the Candidate Forum and votes must be cast by 12:00 p.m. on March 17. Official results will be announced at the Annual Board Meeting on March 18. Eagle Ridge Academy celebrated Minnesota School Bus Driver Appreciation Day earlier this week! 🚍 Fourth grade Student Senators Arohi, Lena, and Abhi passed out gift bags containing snacks, refreshments, goodies, and cards from students to our drivers after school and thanked them each individually for their service. Thank you to our Metropolitan Transportation Network, Inc. bus drivers (and "Bus Boss" Miss Jodie!) for their dedication to our students and their safety each and every morning and afternoon. A total of $1,789 was raised by the community during the Battle of the Coins fundraiser earlier this month! It's unbelievable how the ERA community rallied together help the PTO raise money for Staff Appreciation Week. Congratulations to 3rd grade, 5th grade, and 12th grade for leading their divisions and bringing in the most donations during the fundraiser. 🏆 There are fun treats every day this week for teachers and staff. Congratulations to ERA Mock Trial for qualifying for the State Tournament this past week! The team competed against and defeated Prior Lake's 2nd team, Wayzata's 1st and 2nd teams, Eden Prairie's 1st team, and Breck to qualify for State. State will take place March 6-7 at the United States District Court in St. Paul. The entire community is invited to Pack the Stands this evening, February 13, for a fun night celebrating our winter activities/athletics seniors. 🏀🎉🏅 As this is a community event, admission is FREE for all ERA families and ERA alumni! Girls JV basketball will play at 5:30 p.m., Girls Varsity Basketball will play at 7:30 p.m., and seniors in a winter activity will be recognized during an 8:00 p.m. ceremony. There's still time to contribute to Battle of the Coins! This week, all grades are competing to earn the most points and win a special reward. Right now, third grade is leading the School of Grammar, fifth grade is leading the School of Logic, and tenth grade is leading the School of Rhetoric, but there’s still time to shake up the standings! Students can bring in pennies and dollar bills tomorrow and Friday before school to add points to their grade's total, or nickels, dimes, and quarters to subtract from another grade's total.
