During this year's back-to-school workshop week, Eagle Ridge Academy faculty and staff built community by choosing and completing a service project together! Everyone was able to choose a project that was meaningful to them and, by working together, so much valuable work was completed in a short time.

Projects included writing cards for new students and volunteers, picking up trash around the outside of the building, organizing and sorting books and school supplies, creating motivational posters, helping our Custodial Manager Juan clean up the school, and more. We are so proud of the entire ERA team and grateful for their helping hands and smiles. See you next week, scholars! #GoGryphons

Ms. Charles has played soccer for 15 years and has coached soccer for several years, including at the elementary and high school levels. We welcomed all faculty and staff back into the building today! Faculty and staff enjoyed breakfast, a district meeting with speeches from ERA's Executive Director, Academic Director, Board Secretary, and Principals, and new staff introductions. It was wonderful to be together again, refreshed and ready for the year ahead.

Reminder: The 2025 Fall Sports Eligibility Meeting for students in grades 7-12 will be held in the Eagle Ridge Academy Auditorium TOMORROW, August 7, at 5:00 p.m. Families with athletes in grades 7-12 are required to attend one eligibility meeting per year, and the fall meeting is always the largest. During this meeting, you will have the opportunity to meet our new Activities Director Sean McMenomy and our Administrative Assistant Syd Heidemann. We will review Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) bylaws and ERA policies, provide an overview of the upcoming fall season, and introduce some of the fall coaches. There will also be time for Q and A. Please plan for 40-60 minutes. #GoGryphons

Ms. McGuinness graduated from St. Catherine University with her Bachelors in Communication/Arts and Literature (CAL) Education 5-12 and a minor in American Sign Language(ASL).

"I was drawn to Eagle Ridge Academy's commitment to providing a learning community rooted in developing student's love of learning, " shared Ms. McGuinness

When she's not at school, you can find her on a run, rock climbing, reading a good book, or spending time with family and friends.

Thirty families joined us for a screening of the movie "The Wild Robot" yesterday! This summer, families were encouraged to join the shared reading experience One School, One Book (OSOB). Copies of "The Wild Robot" were provided to households in May, and families were given a summer reading schedule, activities, discussion questions, and vocabulary support. Parents/caregivers read the book aloud to their children or listened together to chapters read by guest readers. OSOB builds a community of readers and a sense of belonging within our school. When an entire school reads together, it generates excitement about reading. Thank you for participating, families! #GoGryphons

New Staff Welcome | Help us give a big #GoGryphons hello to Brian Deuth, School of Rhetoric Physical Education Teacher! Mr. Deuth earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Minnesota State University, Mankato. "I was drawn to Eagle Ridge Academy because of the way they teach every subject and the importance they put on each subject. The Classical Liberal Arts curriculum was also a draw for me because it aligns very well with my teaching philosophy. I have been teaching in the International Baccalaureate curriculum - which is a similar curriculum - for the past 12 years," shared Mr. Deuth. When he's not at school, you can find him entertaining his two kids! He enjoys playing a variety of different sports and reading with them. We are proud to have Mr. Deuth as part of our community and are excited for him to join us!

New Staff Welcome | Help us give a big #GoGryphons hello to Sean Hames, Fifth Grade Teacher! Mr. Hames earned his Elementary Education degree from Winona State. He taught in Spain for a year during COVID, transitioned into an EL role in Eden Prairie, and has spent the last two years as a First Grade Teacher. "When I was finishing up my Elementary Education degree, I student taught at ERA. I had a very pleasant experience working here and thought it'd be a lot of fun to return to where it all started, " shared Mr. Hames. When he's not at school, you can find him doing all sorts of activities, including learning new recipes, working out (running, hiking, gym, etc.), going to local events with friends, and working on his art. He also recently started a small commission business. We are proud to have Mr. Hames as part of our community and are excited for him to join us!

Congratulations to rising junior Violet for being crowned 2025-2026 Hopkins Raspberry Festival Princess! The Raspberry Royalty promote community service, volunteerism, and personal growth for young ladies within the local community. They cover 5 pillars of leadership that the program identify as: Purpose, Integrity, Teamwork, Courage, and Humility.

Eagle Ridge Academy Class of 2025 graduates Victoria, a 2024-2025 Hopkins Raspberry Festival Princess, and Maleeha, 2024-2025 Hopkins Raspberry Festival Queen, helped crown Violet during last week's ceremony.

During the Hopkins Raspberry Festival this past weekend, Violet spoke with community members, met the mayor, rode in the parade, and more. We are proud of you, Violet! #GoGryphons
