On the Door Tour Day, students from the School of Grammar are paired up with students in the Schools of Logic & Rhetoric to tour the school together. While they tour, buddies choose their favorite doors, complete activities such as a scavenger hunt, and learn from each other. Upper School students tell their Lower School buddies about their favorite subjects, give advice, and answer questions. Upper School students usually come out of the experience with smiles on their faces and a newfound respect for their teachers for navigating the responsibility of teaching while also keeping students on track!
We are fortunate to have the ability to bring different grade levels together to mutually educate and appreciate truth, beauty, and goodness together. This is one of the most joyful days of the year at the Academy. The Schools of Logic & Rhetoric hold monthly Pillar Assemblies in which six students from each grade level in the Schools of Logic and Rhetoric are recognized for displaying CIPHER throughout the month. Each student is nominated for a Pillar Award by one of their teachers, who writes a short paragraph describing how the student exemplified their pillar, which is shared with the student body.

AP Art History and Eastern Thought students had a fabulous field trip at the Minnesota Institute of Art (Mia) with Mrs. Johnson and Mr. O'Brien last week! While there, students were able to see "The Valley of Mexico" by Juan Maria Velasco, a painting that is actually covered in the AP Art History curriculum. They also explored the Cambodian Royal Bronzes exhibit.
