Harshita

Meet Harshita, an Eagle Ridge Academy alumna whose journey has taken her from the halls of ERA to the world of law. Describing herself as "curious, kind, and genuine," Harshita reflects on how her unique education at Eagle Ridge Academy shaped her path and continues to inspire her today.

Navigating Stress and Finding Her Path

Looking back, Harshita wishes she could have stressed less during her time at school. "Things have a weird way of working themselves out," she says, a perspective gained through experience. After graduating from ERA, Harshita is proud of how she found her way into law school—a path that perfectly aligns with her strengths. “I think my analytical reading and writing skills lent well to law. It was a very natural fit once I started exploring the field.”

A Strong Educational Foundation for Law

Harshita credits her education at Eagle Ridge Academy, especially the humanities program, for giving her a head start in law. "The way that humanities forces you to think is very similar to how lawyers are required to think," she explains. "ERA did a phenomenal job preparing me for that." This solid foundation has set her apart in law school, particularly in her written and oral advocacy skills.

Advice for Future Legal Eagles

For students aspiring to pursue a career in law, Harshita emphasizes the importance of developing oral advocacy skills and building a strong network. "Networking is a soft skill that can get you very far within this career," she says, adding that it’s something she wishes she had started earlier. Her advice? "Pursue opportunities to practice public speaking and start building connections as soon as you can."

Looking to the Future

As Harshita prepares for her post-graduate position at Stinson LLP after passing the bar, she remains committed to her growth. Her goal for the upcoming year is to continue developing her networking skills and putting herself in positions of growth, even when it feels uncomfortable.

Staying Connected to ERA

Harshita's time at ERA left her with lifelong friendships and a deep connection to the school’s mission. She remains an enthusiastic ambassador for Eagle Ridge Academy and plans to stay involved by attending alumni events and volunteering with the school's mock trial team. "I had a really good time at ERA and I believe in what the school aims to teach," she says.

As Harshita looks forward to some day traveling to Prague—her next dream destination—her journey serves as a reminder of the lasting impact of a strong educational foundation and the value of staying connected to the communities that shape us.
