On November 10, Eagle Ridge Academy was named a "Beat the Odds" school by The Minnesota Star Tribune. This recognition is based on our school's exceptional academic performance compared to schools serving similar student populations.
According to The Minnesota Star Tribune's analysis of Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment (MCA) results, "Beat the Odds" schools are those whose students significantly outperform expectations based on demographics such as income, race, and English learner status. Out of more than 2,000 schools statewide, only a small percentage achieve this honor each year.
In reading, grades 7–12 outperformed expected proficiency by 23% and grades 3–6 outperformed expected proficiency by 10%. In math, grades 7–12 outperformed expected proficiency by 26% and grades 3–6 outperformed expected proficiency by 28%. Overall, students exceeded expected performance by about 18 percentage points, placing Eagle Ridge Academy among the top 1% of all schools in Minnesota.
This recognition reflects our incredible dedication, expertise, and love for our students. ERA staff have worked tirelessly to ensure that every student-regardless of background-receives a world-class, Classical education that builds both character and intellect.
Please join us in taking a moment to celebrate this achievement. Our students have truly "beaten the odds," and the collective work of staff, parents, and students continues to make Eagle Ridge Academy a place where excellence and virtue thrive.
