The Board of Directors held their Annual Meeting on March 18, and there were several significant outcomes from this meeting that the Board would like to share with all stakeholders.
Board Election Results
The Board approved the official results of the Board Election. We had an impressive group of candidates running for two vacant spots. Jonathan Good was elected for the teacher position, and David Croson was elected for the parent position. These new Board members will begin their terms in July 2025. Specific details regarding the election results can be found in the meeting minutes on BoardDocs.
Eagle Ridge Academy Growth Resolution
The Board of Directors approved a resolution authorizing the expansion of enrollment capacity for Eagle Ridge Academy. The exact resolution can be found here. This resolution authorizes the Academy to begin the process of expanding enrollment capacity to 3,100 seats by FY 2032 and indicates the intent to further expand to 4,500 seats by FY 2035. This resolution commits to ensuring that this expansion is transparent, sustainable, and responsible, and that the Academy’s mission for academic excellence, fiscal stability, and the preservation of the mission and vision remains the priority.
Academic Calendar
The Board voted to approve the updated Academic Calendar for the current school year. Due to the inclement weather days, and to ensure students have consecutive days of school, the following changes have been made:
1.) The last day of school for School of Grammar students will be May 28. This is a full day of school with a 3:00 p.m. dismissal.
2.) The last day of school for the Schools of Logic and Rhetoric will be May 30. This is a half day with an 11:00 a.m. dismissal. The date for the Graduation ceremony remains as May 30.
The Board also voted to NOT add an additional day of school to make up for the March 5 Inclement Weather Day. This decision was made with the stipulation that we do not incur another Inclement Weather Day prior to April 18. If we must close school for another school day this year due to weather, the Board will again need to review the calendar for the end of the school year.
