Happy Thursday! The first Eagle Eye newsletter of 2025 is now available. The Eagle Eye is Eagle Ridge Academy's translatable community newsletter that is published every other Thursday during the school year. It is a great resource to see important updates and learn what is happening around the school. Here's a preview of what you'll find in this week's newsletter:
Call for 2025 Board Nominations. The Eagle Ridge Academy Board of Directors has issued a call for nominations for the 2025 Board of Directors election. There will be two seats open for the 2025 Board of Directors election. Under the new by-laws, this means that the following groups can fill the seat openings: only one teacher member, only one parent member, or up to two community members. The deadline for all nominations is Friday, January 31, by 4:00 p.m. Read the full announcement and submit nominations inside the issue.
Message from ERA Executive Director on Screens. In today’s digital age, screens dominate much of our daily lives. However, from the perspective of Classical education, we must pause to consider how this impacts the cultivation of virtue, wisdom, and a love of the true, the good, and the beautiful. Lean how much time children are spending on screens and what the cost is to their development inside the issue.

Introducing our Pathways for Teacher Development and Licensure (PTDL) program, where you can receive tuition assistance for licensing, field experience, one-on-one mentor support, and more to become an effective, high-quality Classical teacher. Inaugural School of Logic Gryphon Games Saturday, February 1 - Volunteers Needed! All School of Logic students are invited to an afternoon of ball games in the gymnasium, grades 5-8 game rooms, a photo booth and henna table in the lunchroom, and FOUR grade-level escape rooms. Senate is looking for adult volunteers and donations to help make the first Gryphon Games a day of fun and community for the School of Logic. On February 6, Schools of Logic & Rhetoric parents will have the opportunity to meet with teachers and administration about topics requested by the parent community, including: How to Help your Child with Homework, Technology and Teens, and Behavior and Bullying.
