The Eagle Eye: 11/17/2022

Happy Thursday! This week’s Eagle Eye newsletter is now available! The Eagle Eye is Eagle Ridge Academy’s translatable community newsletter that is published every other Thursday during the school year. It is a great resource to see important updates and learn what is happening around the school. Here’s a preview of what you’ll find in this week’s Eagle Eye:
  • Support Eagle Ridge Academy’s Grow Your Own and New Teacher Mentoring Program through Give to the Max and Online Silent Auction. Happy Give to the Max Day 2022! On this national day of philanthropy, help Eagle Ridge Academy recruit, train, and sustain quality teachers for future generations. To participate in Give to the Max and to learn more, please click here. Another way to support these programs is by bidding on items for all tastes and ages in the Gala Online Silent Auction. The entire Eagle Ridge Academy community is invited to participate before the auction closes on Friday, November 18, at 7:30 p.m. New items are still being added and many items are still without bids!
  • Upper School Play The Wind in the Willows Performances this Weekend. Join Mole, Rat, Badger, and Toad on their adventures (and misadventures) along the riverbank and out in the Wide World at one of Eagle Ridge Academy’s performances of The Wind in the Willows this weekend. There will be a Saturday afternoon and evening performance, as well as a Sunday afternoon performance. See more information inside the issue.
  • Read the School Closing and Late Start Decision-Making Process. We live in Minnesota and, on occasion, it will be necessary for Eagle Ridge Academy to cancel or start school late because of snow or severely cold temperatures. As we recognize and appreciate the fact that every family has a different situation, we realize that our decisions will not meet the needs of all. Read the issue to view Eagle Ridge Academy’s decision-making process when cancelling or starting school late.
  • Join Classical Coordinator Suzannah Toso for Our First Classical Conversation on December 1. Classical Conversations will be informal gatherings throughout the school year to connect and share what we are seeing at school and at home, centered around a specific tenant of a Classical education. Our first session will focus on the Vigor of Learning and its place in providing Classical education for all. It will take place on December 1 at 5:30 p.m. at Bober Tea of Eden Prairie’s new Asian Mall. Learn more and register inside the issue.
  • Register Now for One-Act Plays, Dance Team, Speech Team, and More. Auditions for this year’s non-competition one-act play Sherlock Holmes and the Case of the Christmas Goose and competition one-act play Radium Girls are December 1. Dance Team, Speech Team, and more will begin to meet in January. View the descriptions for these winter activities and register today inside the issue.

Read on for more and have a wonderful rest of the week, Gryphons!
