Prevention Measures

While a new type of illness can be scary, we can protect our students, staff and the broader community by using simple everyday actions that protect people from other types of respiratory or flu-like illnesses.

  • Thoroughly wash hands.
  • Cover every cough or sneeze.
  • Clean classroom tables/surfaces frequently.

Keep kids at home for at least 24 hours after there is no longer a fever or signs of a fever (without the use of fever-reducing medicine).

If students become ill at school, parents will be called and expected to pick up their child without delay. This is critically important to prevent or contain the spread of illness.
