Eagle Ridge Academy Synchronized Swimmers Excel at State

Rochester – Eagle Ridge Academy students Olivia Lentz, senior, and Claire Oh, eighth grade, participated in the 2019 Minnesota State High School League Synchronized Swimming State Championship on May 23 and 24. Oh finished third overall in the Long Duet and Lentz placed eighth overall in her short solo.

Both swimmers are members of the Blake Synchronized Swimming team, a cooperative team that includes students from Blake, Benilde St. Margaret’s, and Eagle Ridge Academy. The Synchronized Swim team finished seventh place overall in the state.

Lentz finishes her career as a Captain of the team and was named to the All-State Academic Synchro Swim Team.

Both swimmers also performed well at the section meet, where they qualified for state. Lentz was first in the short solo competition, and Oh was first in short figures and the short duet. Lentz also took sixth in short figures. The extended team took fourth in the section. Lentz finished the section meet with an All-Conference Honorable Mention.

“It was a rowdy atmosphere at the state meet, “ says Kris Babler, ERA athletic director, “We’re very proud of the accomplishments of our swimmers and happy it was a great experience for all those kids. Our partnership with Blake has opened up opportunities for our students to excel in the water.”
