School of Logic

By fifth or sixth grade, a child’s mind begins to think more analytically. Middle-school students become interested in why things are the way they are. The “Logic Stage” is a time when students begin to notice cause and effect,  how different fields of knowledge relate, and the way facts fit together into a logical framework.  These students begin to develop their capacity for abstract thought. Curriculum includes the logic of the various subjects.  Writing will include paragraph construction and learning to support a thesis.  Reading involves the criticism and analysis of texts.  History demands that the student find out the whybehind events , rather than simply reading the stories.  Science requires that the student learn the scientific method.
